Upon the retirement of Ron Pearson on March 29, 2002, I assumed the duties and responsibilities of Director of the Koger Center and combined them with those of Event Manager. I now have full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the facility.
Job Responsibilities Added Include:

* Maintaining the Koger Center calendar.
* Researching possible events and booking them for the "Koger Concerts"
series.
* Contract negotiations and preparations.
* Preparing budgets.
* Supervise all Koger Center staff.
* Administration of all departmental paperwork.

Event Manager

The Event Manager at the Koger Center is second in command, and in the absence of the Director, functions in the role of Assistant Director with full decision making authority. The position has a wide variety of responsibilities including assisting the Director in the various activities associated with the planning, scheduling, and presentations of program and attractions at the Koger Center. Additionally I participate in major management decisions concerning building operations and programs; overseeing and planning for the preventative maintenance of all theatrical systems; overseeing procurement of specifications and bid documents for theatrical equipment; and participating in the hiring of full and part-time staff.
On-going daily activities include: meeting and planning, in conjunction with visiting artists and clients, all aspects of an artists visit-from housing to the performance on stage. Additionally, the Event Manager develops long and short range schedules to interface building spaces and staff with the requirements of visiting performers, plans and directs the staging of events in the theater, supervises the staff, and is the senior management representative at events with responsibility for paying the artist.
Other duties include: devising and revising the Koger Center Technical Packet, that is sent to all visiting artists, preparing Event Sheets for distribution throughout the organization, preparing the Week Ahead Sheets for the biweekly staff meetings, and processing other paperwork as required. I also maintain the Koger Center web page and the Koger Center e-mail server.
