During those momentous times in the early sixties, after the Beatles had invaded America, a boy child was born. That boy would later shape the sounds and many a perception in the Performing Arts venue of Columbia, South Carolina.
Steven Michael Borders came to the Koger Center for the Arts on December 19, 1988. He claims to know a little something about how to control acoustical energy and making pleasant sounds from it. Before coming to the Koger Center, Steve worked at the Carolina Coliseum as (GASP!) a stagehand!! But besides that, he has had his hands in many a pie in town doing sound for different bands and working on TV commercials, plus a movie or two.
Steve is recently single and loves taking his charming daughter Kaitlyn (3 yrs.) to the local carousel to ride in circles for hours on end. In his spare time (which isn't much) he works with bands (nope, he hasn't learned his lesson yet) such as Isabelle's Gift, (recently signed to Republic Records), October Chorus, and whoever else that calls for his services. He also has a small Record/Production company called "General Lee". In addition, Steve also (doesn't he ever SLEEP!!!) does freelance sound contracting and engineering for USC's Athletic Department for sports like Football, Soccer(the other Football), Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Track, and many more...
Besides narrowly squeaking by in Grade School and Highschool, Steve managed to get himself a Diploma from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor in Media Arts. Following is a list of all the things he has proudly done.
